PAWA News
Welcome to the first Chukka Chat for 2023. Its early in the year and the season is starting to gear up quickly, with international and national tours in the works. Feel free to share your stories through Chukka Chat - simply send a brief email to seo@polocrossewa.com.au, to get your news, tournament info or ads in the next CC.
PAWA and PA AGMs
The PAWA AGM will be held next Saturday March 11th. If your club has anything they wish to discuss at the AGM, please let your delegates or the SEO know ASAP. Committee positions are up for nomination and new members are always welcome - Changes in the committee is good for the continued growth of our sport.
The PA AGM will be held Thursday 20th April 2023 in Albury
International Tours
Two Australian teams have recently competed in New Zealand, with both the Mens and Womens teams coming home victorious with both teams winning all 3 games played. Well done to all of the players that travelled to New Zealand with a special congratulations to WA's own Elizabeth Reid, Tracey Jarrett, Jane Marriott Coach (Women) and Pip Crook Manager (Men) - way to go ladies!
We eagerly await the release of the Australian Women's Team to play at Warwick in May and congratulate the Men who were announced.
Upcoming Tours 2023
2023 sees many tours on the calendar for WA players including but not limited to the following:
- 2023 Albury Junior Classic
- 2023 Intermediate WA v Vic Tour
- 2023 Intermediate Mixed WA v USA
- 2023 Barastoc Men, Women and U21 Women
A tour to the UK for a Senior Mixed team to compete agaisnt the UK World Cup squads, planned for June 2023, to nominate please click here
Congratulations to the teams and their management that are heading east for Albury, Victoria and Barastoc.
2023 Calendar
The Autumn Carnivals have been finalised, with the Burrandong Cup dates published.
The calendar for the remainder of the year will be locked in at the PAWA AGM next weekend and fees for the year will be ratified.
Elders Elite Sale and Super Goal Polocrosse
The inaugural Super Goal Polocrosse game at Murray Regional Equestrian Centre on Sat 25th March Elders v Central Stockcare. 8 out of 12 Australian Representatives are playing and all are Polocrosse Association of Western Australia Inc - PAWA State Representatives. It should be a great event. A fantastic response with hopes of growing bigger in the years to come!
